The trailer of the first space thriller in Telugu cinema, Antariskham 9000 kmph, is out and impressive. The film is about a malfunctioning satellite heading towards the earth and it needs to be fixed immediately to ensure the digital communication of the humans remains intact. Varun Tej plays the space scientist sent to space to fix the issue while veteran actor Rahman plays his boss trying to control the situation at the base. Lavanya Tripathi plays Varun Tej’s wife in the movie.

From the trailer, the hard work that has gone into the project is evident. The two minute trailer has been cut to capture the attention of the film buffs and it has rightly done so.

This is the second outing for director Sankalp Reddy in Tollywood, who shot to limelight with his debut flick The Ghazi Attack, which won the 65th National Film Awards under the Best Feature Film in Telugu category. Known for making a positive impact with his debut flick, expectations are high on this space thriller too. The film’s shooting is currently on and it is expected to hit the marquee on December 21 to cash in on the long Christmas weekend. Antariksham has two heroines – Lavanya Tripathi and Aditi Rao Hydari – in the star cast.

A complete 3D scan for Varun Tej was done for this project and its producer Rajeev Ravi had said, “The only reason to do 3D scan is, the Hollywood technicians won't be available post the shoot and the set will be dismantled. If we missed out any, 3D scan helps us to recreate CG in similar manner.”

Earlier, the plan was to shoot this space thriller in some foreign location as it required zero gravity sets, but later team decided to use Hollywood technicians and get the sets done in Hyderabad.

The trailer released recently has created a lot of expectations for the film. It is scheduled for release on December 21.
