Watch: Trailer of Trisha’s ‘Paramapadham Vilayaatu’ released on her birthday

The film is a political thriller.

The trailer of actor Trisha’s next film Paramapadham Vilayaatu was released on Saturday, coinciding with her birthday.

It starts out with Trisha, who plays a doctor, speaking to the media and giving them a brief about Chezhiyan, who is later revealed to be the Chief Minister. Members of a political party are seen in a CCTV footage as someone’s voice-over gives instructions to block out the CCTV. We see the silhouette of a man facing a massive crowd and can hear him taking an oath, presumably as Chief Minister.

Trisha is seen playing the role of a doctor and tending to the state head in a hospital. She plays mother to a young girl who is hard of hearing and is also speech impaired. The background score is eerie and makes us apprehensive about what's to come. Seemingly based on true events, the film’s trailer holds the promise of an intensely gripping political thriller with a single mother essaying the lead.

The film incidentally happens to be the actor’s sixtieth release in the film industry.

"For the first time, I'm doing a political-thriller. It's very interesting and we had a lot of fun making it. We've shot inside a forest and the film is high on action and adventure," she stated in a video on her latest venture.

The film has been directed by K Thirugnanam and has been produced by 24 Hrs Entertainment. Music is being handled by Amrish. Nandha, AL Azhagappan, Vela Ramamoorthy, Richard and Chaams also star in the film.

Trisha was last seen in as Saro opposite Superstar Rajinikanth in Petta. Prior to that, she had starred in the film 96 alongside Vijay Sethupathi.
