The trailer of Nani’s upcoming film Gang Leader, directed by Manam fame Vikram Kumar, was released on Wednesday. The film will hit the screens on September 13.
The trailer reveals that the film is a comic revenge drama where four women and a child want to seek revenge against a bigshot industrialist played by Karthikeya of RX100 fame. Nani, a writer -- that is, a writer who has written 25 revenge books plagiarised from Hollywood films -- helps them in their cause.
The film has a big star cast, including Priyanka Arul Mohan, Lakshmi, Saranya, Aneesh Kuruvilla, Priyadarshi, Raghubabu, Vennela Kishore, Jaija, Pranya and Sathya.
The trailer promises a jolly, fun-filled film. Besides comedy, the film also has some stunning heist, chase and action sequences.
Towards the end of the trailer, the confrontation between the characters played by Nani and Karthikeya, involving iron rods, reminds one of the fight between Jason Statham and Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious 7.
Gang Leader is Nani’s next film after Jersey, which turned out to be a massive hit. While yesteryear hit movie Gang Leader, starring Chiranjeevi, too had revenge as the plot, this film has a completely different treatment.
The film was delayed as Nani had injured himself on the sets, thereby delaying its production and release.
Vikram Kumar's Gang Leader is releasing almost two years since Hello.
Music for the film is by Anirudh Ravichander. Y Naveen, Y Ravi and Mohan Cherukuri have produced the movie under Mythri Movie Makers banner. Mirosla Kuba Brojek is the cinematographer.
