The makers of Tovino Thomas’s upcoming flick, And the Oskar Goes To, unveiled the teaser of the movie on Thursday. The teaser is a sneak-peek of the two actors from the film introducing the name of the movie to the viewers in a conversation they have in a car.

In the 40-second long sequence, Tovino Thomas, who is playing the lead role in the film, is shown to be on a journey along with actor Siddique. As the latter is driving the car, both the actors hum to the tune of an old Hindi classic. Just as they finish, Siddique asks Tovino if he has found a name for the film. The young actor replies in the affirmative, and suggests the name ‘And the Oskar Goes To’. Siddique nods his head in approval and the duo continue their journey.

Directed by Salim Ahmed, Tovino’s character in the film is named Issak Ebrahem. Veteran actor Sreenivasan plays the role of Aravindan. Anu Sithara and an actor from abroad will be sharing screen space with Tovino Thomas in this entertainer.

Salim Ahamed made his directorial debut with Adaminte Makan Abu in 2011 which did quite well at the box office and followed it with the Mammootty starrer Kunjananthante Kada. In 2015, he went on to direct Pathermari, a blockbuster hit, starring Mammootty and Jewel Mary.

And the Oskar Goes To has a very talented technical crew with Bijibal roped in to score the music, Madhu Ambat for cinematography and the Academy Award winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty for sound mixing and designing. According to reports, a major portion of the film has been shot in the US and Canada. The film is all set to hit theatres on June 21.

Tovino’s last film release was Uyare, directed by Manu Ashokan, who was an associate of the late filmmaker Rajesh Pillai. Parvathy plays the lead in the film, as an acid attack survivor. Tovino plays the character of Vishal Rajashekaran in the film.
