Nagarjuna was last seen in the September 2018 release Devadas which co-starred Nani, Rashmika Mandanna, and Aakanksha Singh in the lead roles.
Manmadhudhu 2 is said to be the sequel to the actor’s own 2002-film Manmadhudhu, a romantic comedy in which he starred opposite Sonali Bendre. He played the role of Abhiram, a young man who begins to hate women after a misunderstanding about a past relationship. The movie, which was written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, received immensely positive feedback upon its release.
Actor and director Rahul Ravindran who has wielded the megaphone for the film earlier directed Chi La Sow starring Sushanth and Ruhani Sharma, which was jointly produced by Annapurna Studios and Siruni Cine Corporation. It released to mostly positive reviews.
