The makers of Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Sarileru Neekevvaru released the teaser of the film on Friday. Playing the role of an army officer, this is Mahesh Babu’s next release after Maharshi in April this year.

“We aren’t relatives. But to protect you and your children, we keep fighting day and night through rain or shine. Because you are our responsibility,” the teaser begins with a voice-over accompanied with action sequences.

Needless to mention, the one-and-a-half minute long teaser is high on patriotism and has Mahesh Babu single-handedly taking down goons. He reprimands a goon and asks him how he can attack women when soldiers are protecting people and sacrificing their lives at the border. While Mahesh Babu has played a cop in a couple of films like Pokiri and Dookudu, this is the first time he will be seen as an army officer.

The teaser also has veteran actor Vijayashanthi and Prakash Raj playing important roles.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Sarileru Neekevvaru is being bankrolled jointly by Anil Sunkara, Dil Raju and Mahesh Babu under the banner AK Entertainments, Sri Venkateswara Creations, GMB Entertainment. The film has Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead. The star cast also includes Aadhi Pinisetty, Ramya Krishnan, Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, and producer Bandla Ganesh.

The film’s title song was released for Independence Day this year. The 2.30-minute song describes the bravery of Indian soldiers and the Army’s victories against Pakistan in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war, the 1999 Kargil war, and the 2016 surgical strike.

The movie is currently expected to release on Sankranthi next year along with Rajinikanth’s Darbar and Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapuramlo.
