Actor Ramya Nambessan has released a single titled ‘Kuhuku’ on her YouTube channel ‘Ramya Nambessan Encore’. Performed by Ramya, who is a talented singer, the song has been inspired by the indigenous people of Wayanad.

“We had made a trip to Wayanad and happened to meet and interact with the indigenous people from there, which made us stumble upon this endearing folklore ‘Kambala paattu’. We decided to recreate the song as a token of our love and affection for the people of Wayanad and their traditional art forms. Here is ‘Kuhuku’, our version of Kambala paattu,” reads the description on the video.

The song has been set to music by Sudeep Palanad. It begins with a buoyant Ramya throwing open the gates to a mansion and performing the number. The melody is upbeat and the actor clearly looks like she’s enjoying herself as she sings the lyrics in the tribal dialect.

We also see her as a writer, dressed in a saree and taking in the beauty of her surroundings and writing.

The video has been directed by Shruthi Namboodiri.

On December 2, Ramya had tweeted the video of her close friend and fellow actor Bhavana humming along with the ‘Kuhuku’ song and wishing her all the very best.

Ramya has sung several songs before this in Tamil and Malayalam, the most recent being ‘Thiri Thiri’ in the Malayalam dubbed version of the Telugu film Dear Comrade. She was last seen in the Aashiq Abu directorial Virus and her latest Malayalam film Anchaam Pathira with Kunchacko Boban is due for release soon.
