The teaser for the Aa Akashame song from Shyamaprasad's upcoming film with Nivin Pauly and Trisha is out. The catchy song, set to music by Gopi Sunder, gives us more than a hint of what the film will be about.
From the promos so far, it's clear that Nivin will be playing an oddball character called Jude. The Aa Akashame song shows the actor to be a stiff introvert who is afraid to try anything new in life. His friend, played by Trisha, is far more free-wheeling and encourages him to live a little - from taking a dive in the pool to drinking some alcohol.
We also get to see Jude's parents and a comic subplot involving a neighbour.
The star cast includes Siddique, Aju Varghese, Neena Kurup, and Vijay Menon. The film marks Trisha's debut in the Malayalam film industry. Nivin has confessed in earlier interviews that he's been a fan of the actor ever since he watched her in Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya.
The character of Jude is distinctly different from the characters Nivin has played so far and it will be interesting to see how the actor pulls this off. His Tamil debut, Richie, turned out to be a damp squib although his home production Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela was a box-office winner during Onam last year.
Sung by Madhav Nair and with lyrics by Harinarayanan BK, Aa Akashame has been received positively.
