Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom was one of the biggest hits in their career. After the film’s release in 2012, the two are now collaborating again for Seethakaathi. In this film, Vijay Sethupathi will be appearing as an aged man. The making of Seethakaathi video, released recently, shows how the star has transformed into an old man with prosthetic makeup.

Incidentally, he will be seen in dual roles as father and son in the film. This has certainly upped the expectation levels for the film. While Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as Ayya and Veteran Kumar, it has Parvathy as Kumar’s wife and Archana as Ayya’s wife.

The film also has Gayathrie in the star cast with veteran director J Mahendran playing the villain. Govind Menon is composing the tunes for this flick with Saraskanth TK wielding the camera and R Govindaraj roped in for editing. Seethakaathi is being bankrolled by Sudhan Sundaram, Umesh G, Jayaram and Arun Vaidyanathan under the banner Passion Studios.

With the making of Seethakaathi video going viral online showcasing how much efforts are gone into making it, Vijay Sethupathi’s fans are now waiting eagerly for the release of Junga.

This Gokul directorial is scheduled for release on July 27. Besides Junga, the star has a bunch of films in different stages of production including the Mani Ratnam directorial Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which will be out in the theatres later this year. He also has 96 and the award-winning director Thiagarajan Kumararaja directorial Super Deluxe lined up for release this year.

Vijay Sethupathi is all set to make his acting debut in the Telugu film industry with the Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. The shooting of this biopic on the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy is currently on and it is scheduled for release early next year.
