A video of four Lucknow policemen allegedly fighting over their share of bribe surfaced on Sunday. The video has since gone viral on social media.
They were reportedly collecting bribe from the trucks and local vendors in the area.
The video shows two policemen beating up each other in public. Two other policemen try to separate the two. Later, a fifth policeman joins, who also fails to stop the fight.
Senior Superintendent of Lucknow Police Manjil Saini denied that the fight was over bribe. He said that the brawl between policeman Vijendra Yadav and a Home Guard was over clearing the traffic jam in Itauja area on the outskirts of Lucknow.
"This is not true at all. Moreover the video is nearly two-three days old," Saini said.
Saini added that Yadav has been suspended and a letter has been written to Home Guard directorate to take action against the home guard.
