While film producers and directors are extremely wary of leaks ahead of their film’s release, director Kiruthiga has gone ahead and put out the first seven minutes of her upcoming thriller Kaali.

Actor and music director Vijay Antony, who is the film’s producer/music director/lead actor, shared the link to the video on his Twitter page.

The film’s sneak-peek offers a good insight on what the story is going to be. Bharath, the film’s protagonist, is a doctor in the US who has his own hospital. While he is successful, he is plagued by a recurrent dream that has a bull, snake and a woman. While Bharath is only vaguely concerned at first, the truth that he’s actually an adopted son leads him to ponder further on the dream and what it could possibly mean.

As any plotline would have it, Bharath is curious to know the meaning of the dream now and plans to visit India to find out about his childhood. He assures his adoptive parents that he’d be back in a week and flies down to India. The video ends with him entering a child-care centre.

The film’s premise, without giving away too much, is interesting enough to draw audiences to the theatre. The clip that was released on Youtube has gained over 9 lakh views so far.

Titled Kaasi in Telugu, the film will hit the screens on May 18. The film also stars Anjali, Sunaina, Amritha, Shilpa Manjunath, Yogi Babu, Madhusudan, Nassar and Jayaprakash in pivotal roles.

Richard M Nathan is the cinematographer and Lawrence Kishore is the editor. Kiruthiga had previously directed the 2013 film Vanakkam Chennai, starring Shiva and Priya Anand in the lead, while Vijay Antony was last seen in the family drama Annadurai.
