The teaser for Darshan's upcoming film Yajamana was released on Saturday and has become a huge hit with his fans. So much so that some reports say that the teaser has beaten the record set by the Yash-starrer KGF: Chapter One, reaching one million views in just 55 minutes after it was released on YouTube. In comparison, KGF took one hour to reach one million views.

This is the first trailer of the film that gives viewers a glimpse of what's to come. The trailer has already raked up more than 9 million views since it was released on Saturday. The film will hit the screens on March 1.

In the opening sequence of the trailer, Darshan is seen dragging a temple bell along the floor amid bodies of injured men piled on top of each other. The trailer then shifts to action sequences in which Darshan is fighting a group of rowdies in characteristic style.

The trailer also showed Rashmika Mandanna, who is starring opposite Darshan in the film. Tanya Hope also features alongside her in a ensemble cast that includes Thakur Anoop Singh, Devaraj, Ravishankar, Sadhu Kokila and Dhananjay in key supporting roles.

Thakur Anoop Singh plays a villainous role opposite Darshan in the film.

The title track of the film, which was released on YouTube six days ago, has also been viewed over 5 million times already

Rashmika tweeted the link of the trailer and Darshan followed up the tweet by thanking her for the love and support in making the film.

The filmmakers Pon Kumaran and V Harikrishna have made use of huge backdrops as sets in the film. This is set to prompt comparisons with KGF, which was widely appreciated for its sets and backdrops.

Despite the film's name, it has nothing to do with Yajamana, the 2000 family drama starring Vishnuvardhan.
