Anyone who has been in a long-distance relationship will vouch for the fact that they really suck. If the oceans that separate you don’t ruin your intimacy, then the time difference will.
Chennai-based stand-up comedian SA Aravind has perfectly summed what it is to be in a long-distance relationship with a loved one in this three-minute video.
He opens his act frankly stating, “The reason why my girlfriend broke up with me is because we were in a long-distance relationship.”
Aravind then goes on to explain how the difference in time zone between New York and Chennai spelled doom for their relationship. “My girlfriend said she wanted to do a romantic phone call with me. Problem is, for her it was romantic phone call. For me it was ISD Phone call,” says the comedian bluntly.
Intimacy, he says, became an issue in his relationship. While his girlfriend would call him and cheekily ask, “What are you wearing”, Aravind’s nonchalant response was “nothing.” Not because he was in the mood, the comedian says, but because he was “in the commode” – it was 7am in the morning.
