Only by using this security code can the user access the pages. So, even if there is a hacking or phishing of the site and usernames and passwords get stolen, this security code directly sent to the user’s registered mobile will make sure the data remains secure and private.
Some users may not feel very concerned about this aspect of security, but most experts feel that there is really nothing to lose in choosing to be more cautious, especially since the process itself is quite simple.
In many cases, the technology has been fine-tuned to enable the security code to be directly entered in the window provided if received on the same device, and the authentication is done automatically.
