In a horrifying incident, the Visakhapatnam police registered a case against a 45-year-old man on Friday, for allegedly raping his own daughter.

Stating that the man was 45 years old, while his daughter was a 24-year-old, the Two-Town police said that the victim was also raped by her own step-brother and one cousin.

According to reports, the victim's mother had been staying in Nellore after getting separated from her husband, while the victim had been staying in her father’s sister’s house in Vizianagaram town to pursue her education.

After the victim's parents separated, the police said that her father had been married twice. The victim’s father and step-brother stayed in Visakhapatnam.

The victim came to Visakhapatnam a year ago, and was reported to be living with her father, who was a Central government employee.

According to reports, the 45-year-old man had raped his daughter multiple times since then, while the step-brother and cousin would also get drunk and rape her.

However, the girl did not file a complaint as they threatened her, the police said.

The Times of India reported that the incident came to light when the victim approached her grandparents and other relatives, and told them what had been happening.

Following this, a police complaint was filed, and the victim was sent for a medical examination.

Quoting sources, the Deccan Chronicle reported that the police were probing whether the stepmother of the girl was indeed unaware of the torture that she underwent in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking to DC, Inspector of Two-Town police station GV Ramana said, “We have registered a case against the trio and investigation is on. We are investigating all aspects of the case and will nab all the accused soon."
