The News Minute | December 28, 2014 | 10:50 am IST Since Vizag is expected to see an increase in visitors with people from neighbouring states visiting the city for New Years eve, the city police have imposed restrictions to maintain public order. According to a report in the Deccan Chronicle, the celebrations are restricted from between 8 pm and 1 am with the police planning to conduct special drives to curb driving under the influence of alcohol. The police also added that special permission had to be obtained for conducting parties with the organizers ensuring CCTV cameras at locations to step up security. Around 50 teams are also being deployed to keep an eye out for drunken driving and the police warned that hefty fines would be imposed even though they did not want to spoil the spirit of New Year celebrations.
