Chinee smartphone brand Vivo has unveiled ‘Vivo Nex’, that has absolutely no bezel and sports a 91.24% screen to display ratio.

On the basic specifications and features of the Vivo Nex, it will have a large 6.59-inch Super AMOLED display. The processor will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and 8GB RAM. The internal storage will be 256GB or 128GB. It is expected that these specs might be of a premium version Vivo Nex S and a standard Vivo Nex A with 6GB RAM and a lower internal storage may also be launched.

Now on to the most important part of this new device. Vivo is introducing a camera for taking selfies that goes into the phone’s side and pops up when you wish to use the camera to click pictures. The fingerprint sensor is below the display screen and in the standard version, Vivo Nex A, it will be embedded in the rear panel.

The third feature relates to the speaker, for which Vivo has used Screen SoundCasting Technology to overcome the handicap of not being able to fit in a speaker on the front screen. This technology converts the vibrations on the display screen into sound and is transmitted to the user.

On the optics front, there is the rear dual camera setup that includes a 12MP and one 5MP sensor and the front camera that pops up from inside the body of the phone is 8MP in size.

Artificial intelligence plays a huge part with a dedicated AI button provided on the phone.

Both the versions are being released in 2 colors, black and red and the premium phone is being sold in China for 4998 yuan (around Rs 53,000). One has to wait to know when and at what price the phones are launched in India.
