Vivo has teased pictures of a new phone in its S series to be launched in the Indian market. The teaser as revealed by 91Mobiles just has an image of the phone and says S1 and ‘coming soon’.
Interestingly, a phone with the moniker Vivo S1 is already being sold by the company in the Chinese market. One must hasten to clarify that the Vivo V15 smartphone sold in India is the same as the S1 in China. This means the Vivo S1 to be launched now will have different specifications. The details available now are not sufficient enough to confirm the full specifications of the phone, but some design elements etc. have been shared. The Vivo S1 is being released in the Indonesian market on July 16. Therefore, some information is available from there as well.
The camera section, for example, is quite clear. It has three sensors arranged one below the other vertically. It is reported that the Vivo S1 will arrive with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD display, offering a full HD+ screen resolution of 1080x2340pixels. An octa core MediaTek Helio P 70 processor will power the phone. RAM support is likely to be made available in two variants, 6GB and 8GB and the internal storage will remain 128GB for both.
Going by the information in the public domain on this device in Indonesia, some more features like the water drop notch housing a 32MP front camera can be confirmed. There will be an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
The Vivo S1 is likely to be priced in India at Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 for the two variants and it is expected to be an online exclusive. Going by the recent launch of the brand’s Vivo Z1 Pro on Flipkart, it can be assumed that this too would be on Flipkart only.
There is no clarity on the date of launch of the Vivo S1.
