Vishal’s last outing Irumbu Thirai, released a few months weeks ago, was a success at the box office and his next film release will be the sequel to Sanda Kozhi. One of the biggest hits in his career, Sanda Kozhi hit the silver screens in 2005. Talks about the sequel going on the floors have been going on for quite a few years now and finally it started to roll this year.

Sanda Kozhi 2 is shaping up well with director N Lingusamy, who had directed the prequel, wielding the megaphone for this too.

Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar play the women leads in this action entertainer with Raj Kiran, Arjai, Ganja Karuppu, Ramdoss, Hareesh Peradi, Kabali Vishwanth, Appani Sarath, Shanmugarajan and Thennavan playing supporting roles. Meera Jasmine, who was Vishal’s love interest in the first part, will be seen in an extended cameo.

The technical crew of Sanda Kozhi 2 includes Yuvan Shankar Raja for music, KA Shakthivel for cinematography and Praveen KL for editing. The film is bankrolled jointly by Vishal, Jayantilal Gada and Akshay Jayantilal Gada under the banners Vishal Film Factory and Pen Studios. It will hit the marquee on October 18 year.

Vishal, who has been consistent in coming up with at least two film releases every year, will work on two films simultaneously after he is done with Sanda Kozhi 2. Reports say that debut director Venkat Mohan will be donning the director’s robes for the Temper remake. Vishal is paired opposite Raashi Khanna in this flick. The other project in his kitty is the Lakshman directorial. With the star planning to work in both films simultaneously, they are expected to be out in theatres during the first half of 2019.

The industry grapevine is that Vishal might start work on Thupparivaalan 2, a sequel to his Thupparivaalan, a Sherlock Holmes-style detective drama. In the film, he plays a hot-headed detective called Kaniyan Poogundran and Prasanna played his partner called Mano, modelled after Dr Watson from Sherlock Holmes.
