It was reported last year that Vishal will star in the Tamil remake of NTR’s Telugu blockbuster Temper, which was helmed by Puri Jagannadh. Ever since the announcement, there’s been no development with respect to the project. On Thursday, the project was officially launched with a customary ceremony, which was attended by AR Murugadoss as chief guest.

The project, to be directed by Venkat Mohan, an erstwhile associate of Murugadoss, has been officially titled Ayogya. Raashi Khanna has been signed as the leading lady. It’s worth mentioning that Temper is also currently being remade in Hindi as Simmba, which starts Ranveer Singh in the lead.

In an interaction with media ahead of the release of Thupparivaalan, Vishal last year confirmed he will be starring in the Tamil remake of Temper. However, he said he will finish shooting for Sandakozhi 2 and commence work on the remake, which was originally supposed to feature Simbu. Having completed shooting for Sandakozhi 2, Vishal is expected to start shooting for Ayogya very soon. NTR played a foul-mouthed cop with no morals in Temper, and he sported six-pack abs for his role. Kajal Aggarwal played the leading lady while Prakash Raj played the antagonist.

The project may see Vishal in a chiseled avatar. He is expected to shed weight and build a muscular frame to essay the character. The project will be bankrolled by Vishal Film Factory and the makers are currently busy finalising the cast and crew. Vishal, last seen on screen in Irumbu Thirai, has also confirmed that he will produce another film with Mysskin and it might happen next year. Rumours are rife that the duo is most likely to team up for the sequel to Thupparivaalan, which was a box-office hit.
