It was reported last year that Vishal will star in the Tamil remake of Jr NTR’s Telugu blockbuster Temper, which was helmed by Puri Jagannadh. In August 2018, the project was officially launched with a customary ceremony, which was attended by AR Murugadoss as chief guest. The project, directed by Venkat Mohan, an erstwhile associate of Murugadoss, was officially titled Ayogya and Raashi Khanna was signed up as the leading lady. The project was originally planned with Simbu, but for unknown reasons it never took off. It may be noted that Temper was recently remade in Hindi as Simmba starring Ranveer Singh, and the film has turned out to be a blockbuster.

On the occasion of Pongal, the makers of Ayogya unveiled a poster which revealed that the film will hit the screens this April.  Ayogya also stars Pooja Devariya, KS Ravikumar and Parthiepan in pivotal roles. The film features a special song by Sunny Leone. The film’s premise is based on a heinous rape crime and how it changes a corrupt police officer.

Ayogya will see Vishal in a chiselled avatar. He is believed to have shed weight to build a muscular frame to essay the character. The project has been bankrolled by Vishal Film Factory in association with Tagore Madhu. Vishal, last seen on screen in Sandakozhi 2, has also confirmed that he will produce another film with Mysskin that might happen next year. Rumours are rife that the duo is most likely to team up for the sequel to Thupparivaalan, which was a box office smash hit.

Reports have also emerged that director Mahi V Raghav will be signing up Vishal and Nani for his next. Sources in the know say that the director has impressed both the stars with a good story and has sought their approval.
