Filmmaker Mysskin is busy wrapping up his next film Thupparivaalan, which features Vishal and Prasanna in the lead and they will be seen essaying Sherlock Homes and Dr Watson kind of roles respectively.

Talking about the project, Mysskin said, “We have 10 more days of shoot left for Thupparivaalan and I am happy with the way the movie has shaped up so far. I had this script in mind for a long time now and Vishal fits the bill of playing a Sherlock Holmes-like detective. Prasanna’s character has the shades of Dr. Watson. Everyone gets inspired from something or the other. Mahatma Gandhi was inspired by Harishchandra. Likewise, Edgar Allen Poe came up with the first detective story and then came Sherlock Holmes.

He also clarified that his film’s story has nothing to do with Sherlock Holmes or detective-based movies. “There is a thin line between inspiration and plagiarism. Thupparivaalan has anecdotes from Subramaniya Bharathi, Mahatma Gandhi; there is love, friendship and ego. This is something I always wanted to write. With each movie starting from Chithram Pesudhadi, I have learnt a lot of things in handling such script. I will make 200 more movies in the same genre,” said Mysskin.

He added that Vishal was the obvious choice for the script. “Vishal’s physique suited the script well. However, for the movie, I pitched in with my inputs and he did whatever he could. He is like my younger brother and I always listen to him. However, I wonder if audiences will see Thupparivaalan as Vishal’s film or Mysskin’s.

The film also stars Anu Emmanuel and will be released via Vishal Film Factory this August.
