Virat, Anushka get married in secret in Italy? Here’s all you need to know

It’s the wedding of the year – one that has had rumour mills on over drive for the past days. But it appears Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma are finally married, with the wedding taking place in Tuscany, Italy, reported several news outlets.

Fans of the cricketer and actor are ecstatic, with the couple being called ‘Virushka’.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Virushka wedding:

1. The couple got married at Borgo Finocchetio, a luxury villa in Tuscany, according to Hindustan Times.
2. The resort was reportedly decked up in Punjabi style, and professional bhangra dancers were seen entering the venue.
3. The resort has a heavy security cordon where only guests with invitations will be allowed.
4. On December 8, Anushka, her parents and her brother boarded a flight to Italy, sparking the rumours.
5. Anushka’s family priest, Maharaj Anant Baba of Anant Dham Atmabodh Ashram in Haridwar, also reportedly accompanied them.
6. According to India Today’s sources, Virat and Anushka will register their marriage at the Bandra Family Court on January 4.
7. A grand reception will be held in Mumbai on December 26 before the Indian cricket team leaves for its South Africa tour.
8. According to News18, Yuvraj Singh and Sachin Tendulkar are the only cricketers who have been invited to the wedding. From Anushka’s side, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have apparently been invited, Times Now reported.
9. Virat’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma has also been invited, according to India Today. He allegedly chose to stay out of a crucial match on December 7, citing his nephew’s wedding.
10. Designer Sabyasachi is believed to have designed Anushka’s outfit.  

Virat and Anushka have reportedly been in a relationship with each other for around four years. They have hardly spoken about their relationship, but time and again, their appearances together at different events and occasions, have been proof of their bond.

"Everyday is a Valentine's Day if you want it to be. You make every day seem like one for me. Anushka Sharma," Virat had posted on Instagram with a photograph featuring the couple, on the occasion of Valentine's Day this year.
