Shanavas’ debut film Kismath made it to the silver screens in 2016 and it was based on a true life incident. It is about a scheduled cast girl and Muslim boy failing in love and the backlash they had to face in the society. In addition to the caste difference, they also need to fight the prejudices against older woman-younger man relationships. She plays a 28-year-old, he plays a 23-year-old.
