Reports say that Tamil star Vikram is in talks with director Anwar Rasheed to star in a Malayalam film. Touted to be a period flick set in the 1970s, it will have the actor in a new avatar. Interestingly, Vikram is not a new name in the Malayalam film industry as he had starred in quite a few Mollywood films in the 1990s, that is before making a mark for himself in his home state. Most of Vikram’s Tamil films have been released in Kerala and he enjoys a huge fan base there. With reports that the award-winning actor and director would be teaming up, movie buffs are excited and look forward to an official announcement.

In the meantime, both of them are busy with their respective projects. Anwar Rasheed is working on his next release Trance, which has Fahadh Faasil in the lead role. Trance has been scripted by Vadakkan Vincent and others in the star cast include Vinayakan, Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi and Alphonse Puthren. Apart from directing and producing the film, Anwar Rasheed is also handling the camera. Earlier, when the film was announced, there were reports that Fahadh plays a priest in it, but the filmmakers are keeping every other detail about it under wraps. To know more about Trance, we have to wait until its release which will be in March next year.

Vikram, on the other hand, is expecting the release of the Gautham Menon directorial Dhruva Natchathiram. The film is expected to hit the marquee next month. Dhruva Natchathiram is a spy thriller that has Vikram playing the lead role with Simran, R Parthiepan, Aishwarya Rajesh and Ritu Varma in the star cast as well. Written and directed by Gautham Menon, it will have music by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography by Jomon T John, Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran and Manoj Paramahamsa. Praveen Anthony is the editor of the film.
