Vikram's next yet-untitled project with director Ajay Gnanamuthu went on floors recently. The film is currently dubbed as Vikram 58. After a long promotional tour for his son Dhurv's debut film Adithya Varma, Vikram has joined the sets recently.

The shooting of the film is currently underway in Alleppey where a grand song sequence is being canned and Vikram is sporting a long hair look for the sequence. Tthe team is planning to shoot for nearly 10 days in Kerala.

The project marks the first-time collaboration between Vikram and Ajay. The director is best known for helming Demonte Colony and last year’s Imaikka Nodigal starring Nayanthara.

The film will be a pan-Indian project catering to the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu audience. There are rumors that Vikram might be seen playing a photographer in the film.

The film also stars Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame. Cricketer Irfan Pathan will be making his acting debut with this flick and has an important role to play in it. Director KS Ravikumar was roped in to play a pivotal role as well.

AR Rahman has been signed as the composer of the film and the project, which marks the third time union of Vikram and Rahman after Raavanan and I. Bankrolled by 7 Screen Studio in association with Viacom 18 Studios and the film will is expected to hit the screens during Summer 2020.

Soon after wrapping up the Ajay Gnanamuthu directorial, Vikram will be shifting his focus on Mani Ratnam’s film. This is an ambitious project inspired by the classic novel Ponniyin Selvan. The book traces out the life of the most popular among the Chozha kings, Raja Raja Chozhan I. Vikram’s last release was Kadaram Kondan, directed by Rajesh M Selva bankrolled by Kamal Hassan's Raaj Kamal International. The film had bombed at the box office.
