Award-winning actor Vikram was in Thiruvananthapuram for the promos of the Tamil film Aadithya Varma, which will mark the acting debut of his son Dhruv Vikram. During his interaction with the media, Vikram not only promoted his son’s film but also disclosed a few details about his own projects. The star pointed out that the Gautham Menon directorial Dhruva Natchathiram will hit the marquee soon. He also broke the news that he will soon be inking a deal to act in a Malayalam film.

Vikram has acted in Malayalam movies very early in his career. When it was Dhruv Vikram’s turn to speak to the media persons, he revealed that he always liked the Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal but it is Dulquer Salmaan he likes the most now.

Aadithya Varma is the Tamil remake of the hit Telugu film Arjun Reddy. The film had Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey as the lead pair. Following its massive success, its remake rights in different languages have been lapped up like hotcakes.

Aadithya Varma is directed by debutant Girisayya who was an associate of Sandeep Vanga, the director of Arjun Reddy. Radhan has composed music for this venture with Ravi K Chandran cranking the camera.  Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand play the female leads in this flick. The film is gearing up for release on November 8th worldwide.

It may be noted here that Dhruv Vikram was supposed to make his acting debut with the Bala directorial Varma, a remake of Arjun Reddy. But this project was scrapped entirely after the shooting was completed owing to creative differences between director Bala and the producer.

Meanwhile, Vikram awaits to join the shooting of Maniratnam's Ponniyin Selva, a film with a huge star cast. Lyca Productions, which had previously released Maniratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, will bankroll the project. The film will finally go on the floor from December after nearly a year of pre-production. It has already been confirmed that Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Jayam Ravi are officially part of the cast but as per reports the film also stars Jyotika, Amala Paul and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles. Vijay Sethupathi is also said to be part of the project.
