Last seen playing a reckless son in search of his missing father in 60 Vayadhu Maaniram, actor Vikram Prabhu will be seen sharing screen space with Arjun and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff in the upcoming Tamil thriller Walter. Officially announced earlier this week, the project will be directed by U Anbarasan and bankrolled by Singaravelan under his banner Madukkur Movie Makers. The regular shooting of the project is expected to begin from October. The makers are yet to finalise the rest of the cast and crew.
Jackie Shroff was last seen in the Tamil thriller Maayavan, in which he played the antagonist. He is reportedly playing the main antagonist in Prabhas’ Sahoo too. In the Tamil film industry, Jackie is best remembered for his role as a gangster in the national award-winning film Aaranya Kaandam.
Meanwhile, Vikram was lauded for his performance in 60 Vayadhu Maaniram, in which he played Prakash Raj’s son. The film was shot in stealth mode in just over 30 days. Talking about the project, Vikram had said: “The entire shoot of the film was wrapped up in 36 days in and around Chennai. Interesting part is that nobody had a clue about such a project being made until it was announced by the makers. We shot in stealth mode. Honestly, we don’t know how the news about the film didn’t get leaked. It wasn’t like we were shooting in some remote village. We were shooting in Chennai and nobody knew about the project.” The film had music by maestro Ilayaraja. The film managed to impress critics but failed to make much progress at the box office.
Vikram currently has two more projects in his kitty – Thuppakki Munai and Asura Guru, which is gearing up for release next.
On Sunday director Gautham Menon released the teaser of Thuppakki Munai on Twitter. Directed by Dinesh Selvaraj, the film stars Vikram Prabhu as a ruthless cop, with the cast including Hansika Motwani, MS Baskar and Vela Ramamoorthy. The one-minute teaser is packed with back-to-back action and chase sequences.
