Vikram starrer Dhruva Natchathiram went on floors in January last year and is still in the making. Fans are expecting this film’s release in December this year and reports are that this is highly likely.

Sources in the know say that the film’s shooting is reaching its final stages and will be wrapped up soon. Vikram is keen on completing this assignment soon so that he can move over to his next project. Apparently, the star has inked a deal to star in a movie that will be directed by Rajesh M Selva of Thoongavanam fame and is keen on joining the sets at the earliest.

Dhruva Natchathiram is a spy thriller that has Vikram playing the lead role. Though the initial plan was to shoot a major portion of the film in the US, Gautham Menon eventually decided on European countries. While the teaser of the film, shot in New York, was released earlier last year, the shooting began to proceed at a slow pace owing to various reasons.

The film also has Simran, R Parthiepan, Aishwarya Rajesh and Ritu Varma in the star cast. Written and directed by Gautham Menon, it will have music composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography done by Jomon T John, Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran and Manoj Paramahamsa. Praveen Anthony is the editor of the film.

It is a high budget movie that is being bankrolled jointly by Gautham Menon, Venkat Somasundaram, Reshma Ghatala, P Madan and Senthil Veeraasamy under the banners Ondraga Entertainment, Escape Artists Motion Pictures and Kondaduvom Entertainment. Lyca Productions has bagged its distribution rights.

Gautham Menon was initially in talks with Suriya, with whom he had teamed up for hit movies such as Kaaka Kaaka and Vaaranam Aayiram but the star walked out of the project for various reasons.

Eventually, Vikram bagged the offer and is working with the director for the first time in his career. This is reason enough for the film buffs to expect Dhruva Natchathiram. The film is likely to make it to silver screens on December 21 this year.
