This year’s Deepavali will witness a clash between two big-budget movie Titans - Vijay’s Thalapathy 62 and Suriya’s NGK. The fans are all geared up and the internet is breaking with tension.
Thalapathy 62 is a Tamil language political action thriller film starring Vijay, Keerthi Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The film is directed by A R Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures. The music is being composed by A R Rahman.
Murugadoss constantly hinted on Twitter about the Deepavali release with the hashtag ‘Happy Deepavali’. The first look and title is scheduled to release on Thursday at 6pm on SunTV.
NGK is a Tamil language gangster film starring Suriya, Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh. This film also marks the first time collaboration of Suriya and director Selvaraghavan. It is produced by SR Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music.
On June 19, the director posted an image from the sets of NGK and tweeted, “Lights on for a long schedule from today. Lights on for Diwali. @Suriya_offl #NGKFromDiwali #NGKFire.”
The last time both of them clashed at the box office was in 2011 with Velayudham and 7am Arivu.
The Twitter playground is bombarded with polls by the fans and Thalapathy62 seems to be winning for now. Although Suriya’s fan base appears to be smaller than Vijay’s, NGK is still giving a tough competition to Thalapathy 62.
