Vijay Sethupathi, recently seen playing a trans woman character in Super Deluxe, is currently for shooting SP Jananathan’s Laabam, which also stars Shruti Haasan as the leading lady.
With nearly half a dozen projects in the making, Sethupathi has taken time out to don the hat of a writer for upcoming Tamil comedy Chennai Palani Mars, which will be directed by Biju Vishwanath and produced by Vijay himself under the banner of Vijay Sethupathi Productions.
Having previously worked together in Orange Mittai, Biju and Vijay have pinned high hopes on this project. It’s worth mentioning that Vijay had played a much elderly character in Orange Mittai, which bombed at the box-office.
Tipped to be a rural comedy with space connection, the film will mostly feature newcomers and the first look will be unveiled on May 22. An announcement regarding the same was made by Vijay on Twitter on Sunday via a poster, which features a little boy clad in an astronaut suit.
The rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon. This will be Vijay Sethupathi’s second outing as writer. It was recently revealed that Vijay will pen the script for a sports film starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth.
Meanwhile, Vijay currently awaits the release of Sindhubaadh, which has been directed by Arun Kumar and also stars Anjali. The film has been predominantly shot in Thailand. He has just wrapped up Vijay Chander’s Sanga Tamizhan which also stars Raashi Khanna.
Vijay also has Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy with megastar Chiranjeevi. He has recently signed his second Telugu film opposite Vaishnav Tej. To be titled yet, the film will be directed by Buchi Babu and bankrolled by Mythrie Movie Makers and director Sukumar’s Sukumar Writings.
