Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently in Hosur for the shooting of his Sye Raa, a biopic on the legendary freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy that is directed by Surendhar Reddy. Sye Raa is a period patriotic movie that tells the life story of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who rebelled against the British Raj in the 1840s.

The makers are shooting a crucial sequence of the film at the famous Hogenakkal Waterfalls. After this schedule, the team will move to Mysore for the next schedule where they will shoot at the famous Mysore Palace. The crew recently canned an intense climax war sequence between Narasimha Reddy’s soldiers and the British troops in Georgia.

Meanwhile, a still of Vijay Sethupathi claimed to be from the sets of the film was supposedly leaked. The star is seen sporting a different period look in this pic and it went viral immediately after it was put up online. Reports say that Vijay Sethupathi will play the trusted aide Obayya to Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, and that his character is pivotal to the film.

The shooting for this biopic is expected to be wrapped up soon. The film was earlier planned for a Sankranthi 2019 release and later it was pushed to summer 2019 owing to shooting delays. Now the team is eyeing an Independence Day weekend release according to Chiranjeevi’s wishes, as the film is a biopic on a freedom fighter.

The biopic is bankrolled by Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crore. It has a bevy of stars from different film industries, including Amitabh Bachchan who will be seen making a guest appearance as Gosayi Venkanna. The others in the star cast are Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Tamannaah, Jagapathi Babu, Kiccha Sudeep, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. R Rathnavelu is the cameraman for this film, with A Sreekar Prasad editing it and Amit Trivedi wielding the music baton.
