After their successful collaborations in Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and Sethupathi, actor Vijay Sethupathi and director Arun Kumar are reuniting for a yet-untitled project, which also stars Anjali in the lead.

Having completed the first schedule of the film in May in Tenkasi, the team has now commenced on their latest schedule in Thailand where they’ll shoot for over a month. According to reliable sources from the film’s unit, the team will shoot two songs and a few scenes in Bangkok.

Arun Kumar and Sethupathi have been planning to join hands for a long time. There were plans to even make a sequel to Sethupathi, but looks like the idea fell through. This yet-untitled project is being jointly produced by K Productions and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s YSR Films.

The film also stars Linga and Vivek Prasanna. Talking about his equation with Vijay Sethupathi, director Arun told Times of India: “I didn’t write the script keeping Sethu in mind. I had approached a few artists and had almost finalised another actor, but things didn’t materialise. There’s a huge comfort factor with Sethu, and that’s one of the reasons we didn’t want to work together again. But now that we are teaming up again, I’m glad this film happened.”

Basking in the phenomenal success of 96, Vijay Sethupathi will be next seen playing a transwoman in Super Deluxe. He also has superstar Rajinikanth’s Petta, in which he plays the antagonist.

Amid all these projects, Vijay will be seen making his Kannada debut via upcoming project Akhaada, which he had originally signed even before he rose to stardom. The project, for reasons unknown, has been on the floors for nearly four years. It has to be seen if Vijay will take out time to promote the film.

He had signed this project when he was shooting for Tamil cop drama Sethupathi. Interestingly, he plays a negative role in this project.
