Reports are that the Tamil star Vijay was at a wedding when some unruly fans mobbed him and he was hurt in the process. Vijay was attending the wedding of Bussy Anand’s daughter at the Sanghamthira Wedding Hall in Pondicherry when some fans wanting to catch a glimpse of the star tried to mob him which resulted in a melee.

Sources say that the star was slightly injured and had to be rushed out of the venue much earlier.

Coordinator of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, Bussy Anand had invited Vijay for his daughter’s wedding in Pondicherry and it was reported that the star graced the occasion along with his wife Sangeetha. Videos from the event that surfaced on the internet were quickly removed.

Vijay, who enjoys a huge fan base not only in Tamil Nadu but across the world, is currently busy with the AR Murugadoss directorial Sarkar. The film is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures.

Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman is scoring music for this magnum opus with lyricist Vivek penning the lyrics, Girish Gangadharan wielding the camera and A Sreekar Prasad editing it.

AR Murugadoss and Vijay are teaming up for the third time after the success of Thuppaki and Kaththi and fans are hopeful that the duo would score a hat-trick at the box office with Sarkar. The film’s first look and title were revealed on the occasion of Vijay’s birthday on June 22.

While the title and the first poster were released on the eve of his birthday on June 21, two more posters were released the next day as a birthday gift to his fans.   

Pairing up with Vijay in Sarkar is Keerthy Suresh and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar. Those in the supporting roles include Arjun Sarja, Prem Kumar, Yogi Babu, Radha Ravi, and Pala Karuppiah. The film is in the final staged of production and is scheduled to be a Diwali release this year.
