Vijay to join hands with ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’ director Vinoth next?

If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Thalapathy Vijay might soon join hands with director Vinoth, who stunned audiences and critics alike with Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru.

Apparently, Vijay met Vinoth recently and appreciated his work in the Karthi starrer, which was based on some real events that shook the Tamil Nadu police to their bones.

Sources in the know say that Vijay, whose next film is with AR Murugadoss, is keen to collaborate with Vinoth and it might happen sooner than expected. Busy gearing up for the shoot of Murugadoss’s yet untitled project, Vijay’s venture with Vinoth could be his 63rd film.

Meanwhile, the shoot of Murugadoss’s project is expected to commence later this year. Sun Pictures, best known for producing Rajinikanth’s Enthiran, will bankroll the project on a lavish budget.

The latest update is that double Oscar winning composer AR Rahman has been officially signed on for the project, which will mark his reunion with Murugadoss after the Hindi version of Ghajini. Rahman’s work in Mersal made it one of the most loved Tamil albums of last year.

The film was supposed to happen even before Theri, but for reasons unknown it was delayed and is finally taking shape. While it has already been confirmed that Girish Gangadharan, the young lensman whose recent work includes Kali and Solo, has been signed on for the project, it has been learnt that well-known editor Sreekar Prasad, who has worked with Murugadoss in projects such as Thuppakki and Spyder, is also part of the film.

All eyes are on Thalapathy 62 as the combination of Vijay and Murugadoss has set the bar very high. Two of Vijay’s best films in recent years have come from Murugadoss and that has naturally built high anticipation around their next project. It is believed that the project is being planned as a Diwali 2018 release and might lock horns with Ajith’s Viswasam at the box office.
