Vijay Deverakonda whose film Mahanati released this Wednesday is expecting the launch of his new film titled Dear Comrade. Ahead of the actor's birthday, the makers released the first look poster of the film on Wednesday.

The actor posted on social media on his birthday that this film will be an unforgettable action drama. "Mythri Movie Makers. Big Ben Cinemas. & Your Man @Thedeverakonda. Bring you an action drama you will not forget - #DearComrade directed by Bharat Kamma. Shoot starts this June."

The film is currently in pre-production. The upcoming Telugu film which is being directed by Bharat Kamma was said to be inspired from the Dulquer Salmaan's Malayalam film Comrade in America aka CIA. However, in a recent media interaction, director Bharat Kamma told, "This is completely a different project and has no connection with the Malayalam film. Though the film is titled Dear Comrade it is not a communist movie. Vijay's role will be a student leader coming from a communist family. The film will be set in Kakinada background and Vijay will be speaking in core Kakinada local tongue."

The film is being bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers, who have produced a number of super-hit films such as Srimfanthudu, Janatha Garage and Rangasthalam. The film is to be co-produced by Yash Ragineni of Big Ben Cinemas. It is an out and out action drama which stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.

After the success of Pellichoopulu and Arjun Reddy, actor Vijay Deverakonda has become a busy person with a number of films ready for release, such as the sci-fi thriller Taxiwaala, plus he is all set to test his luck in Tamil filmdom with his next project Nota, directed by Irumugan fame Anand Shankar. Mehreen Pirzada, seen in films such as Raja The Great and Nenjil Thunivirunathal, has been finalised as the leading lady.
