Bollywood star Vidya Balan is confirmed to play an important role in the NTR biopic. The actor plays NTR’s wife Basavatarakam in the movie and is excited about the role she had bagged. “People knew of her but they didn’t know her and that is interesting for me as an actor,” Vidya Balan told in an interview to the Indian Express.

Well, with not enough material about NTR’s wife being available online, the actor is doing a thorough research with the team to get into the skin of the character.

The biopic, which is being directed by J Krish, was launched officially by the Vice President of India, Venkiah Naidu, a couple of months ago.

Sources in the know say that the writer of Manikarnika, KV Vijayendra Prasad has insisted on changing some of the scenes that have already been shot but the filmmakers are still thinking over it as the budget may go up.  .

The star cast also includes Keerthy Suresh, Mohan Babu, and Sumanth playing Savitri, SV Ranga Rao and A Nageswara Rao. Reports are that Jisshu Sengupta will be seen playing the late prolific filmmaker and Dadasaheb Phalke winner LV Prasad while Sachin will be donning the greasepaint as the ex-chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Nadendla Bhaskar Rao.

Keerthy Suresh will be playing the legendary actor Savitri in the biopic. According to reports, Rana Daggubati may hop onboard in the biopic to play NTR’s son-in-law and the Chief Minister of Andhra N Chandra Babu Naidu.

The NTR biopic will have N Balakrishna playing his dad on screen. Being his pet project, the film is being bankrolled jointly by Balayya, Vishnu Induri and Sai Korraputi.

A lot of research has gone into the biopic as Balayya is set on letting NTR fans know details about his dad’s life that have so far not been disclosed. The film is likely to hit the silver screens for Sankaranthi next year.
