Science has come a long way when it comes to birth control. Women now have lots of options to choose from– female condoms, pills, IUD and even hormonal shots. But is birth control supposed to be the woman’s responsibility alone?

Add to this the fact that contraception options for women take a toll on the woman’s body, modifying it internally through insertion of foreign objects like a diaphragm or changing the hormonal balance.

This video, shot like a conventional advertisement with an all-too-happy protagonist, shows you what birth control ads would actually say if they were completely honest. Take a look.

Contrary to popular belief that there’s no birth control counterparts (like a pill) for men except condoms and vasectomy, men can actually share the responsibility.

The video says that there are actually pills and shots for men too. However, birth control is conventionally considered the child-bearer's responsibility.
