Hours before death, DySP MK Ganapathy blamed senior cops, minister if “anything happened to him”

Hours before Mangaluru DySP Ganapathy allegedly committed suicide in a Madikeri lodge on Thursday, he spoke to a local Kannada channel in which he accused senior officials and a Karnataka minister for harassing him.

In his interview to a local TV channel TV 1, Ganapathy alleged that ADGP (intelligence) AM Prasad, Lokayukta IGP Pronab Mohanty and Bengaluru Development Minister KJ George harassed him.

“They did everything on a caste basis. Won’t it be unfair to (other castes?). They (senior officials) sent CID officials, Lokayukta, (Karnataka) Human Rights (Commission) to check on me. They harassed me. I am saying all this because I am sad. If anything happens to me, they are responsible. AM Prasad and Pranab Mohanty.

“He (George) kept his aides close to him. That is why Mohanty, who was the IGP (CID) was posted as Lokayukta IGP, because he could (fix things for George). All the three jointly harassed all the officials who wanted to do something good,” he said.
