Cameras are easily accessible to us today with photography as a passion not limited to just professionals.

A video by COOPH explains how photography has developed over the years and that the first mention of the concept of photography dates back to as far as 400BC to 1040AD.

'The Kodak' was the first handheld camera to go on sale in 1888 and the first digital camera was invented by Steve Sasson, an engineer in Kodak, in 1975.

1949 saw the first single lens reflex SLR camera and the first digital image was created from a scan in 1957, according to the video.

It was in 2000 that the first mobile phone with a camera arrived, something which would totally change the way we see and consume photography.

From how the term photography was coined to possibly the world's Photoshop- which occurred in 1861 (hint: it involves Abraham Lincoln)- watch  this video to find out how photography developed.
