As the Godavari Mahapushkaralu enters its ninth day with ghats on the banks of river Godavari in both Telangana and Andhra witnessing pilgrims throng from all parts of the country, a drone camera has recorded the entire festivities as it flew by the town of Bhadrachalam. Starting with the Sri Rama temple in the town, it flies over the Pushkar ghat, which is considered one of the most sacred ghats as it records thousands of people taking a holy dip in the Godavari. Godavari Pushkaram is an Indian festival dedicated to worshiping rivers. It is celebrated at ghats along the banks of 12 sacred rivers in the country. Each river is associated with a zodiac sign and so every year the festival is celebrated on the banks of one of the rivers. The last Godavari Pushkaram was held in 2003. The festival which started on July 14 is a 12 day affair and over 7 crore people are expected to take a holy dip as part of the pushkar bath in the river.
