The News Minute | December 21, 2014 | 5.05 pm IST About 30 people were reportedly converted to Hinduism at an event organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Alappuzha on Saturday. An equal number of people were converted in Kollam district too. While VHP leaders have confirmed the conversions, they claim that the conversions were voluntary and anyone who wants to come back to Hinduism are welcome. “We haven't received any information regarding such an even” a police Official from Kayamkulam police station, Alappuzha, where the incident reportedly took place, has told The News Minute. Pictures and video from the conversion event has surfaced, despite the police claim. The VHP has claimed that these tribals were Hindus who had earlier converted to Christianity and also denied reports that allurement was given to those who had reconverted. A VHP affiliate has also given out a Hindu helpline for those who wish to convert.
