Nithin – Raashi Khanna starrer Srinivasa Kalyanam is gearing up for a massive release on August 9. The online teaser was unveiled earlier this month by Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu that had instantly gone viral. And now the makers of Srinivasa Kalyanam have roped in Victory Venkatesh to do the voice-over for the intro of the movie.

Revealing the news on the production house’s Twitter handle, the filmmakers tweeted:

Getting the intro voice-over done by well-known stars has become a trend in the Telugu film industry. Films such as Jalsa, Premam and Kick 2 had followed it and now Srinivasa Kalyanam will be joining the bandwagon.

Incidentally, the 1987 release Srinivasa Kalyanam starred Venkatesh in the lead role and it is apt for him to do the voice-over for the film with the same title.

The film, which is said to have an impressive script, was originally offered to Jr NTR but the star turned it down due to call sheet issues. The offer eventually went to Nithin who hopped on board.

Srinivasa Kalyanam is being bankrolled by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Nithin’s debut as hero was with the 2003 release Dil, which was the producer’s maiden production venture. Satish Vegesna is the director of Srinivasa Kalyanam.

Dil Raju is one of the most successful directors in the Telugu film industry and last year has been particularly good for him. Shatamanam Bhavati went on to win the award for the best popular film providing wholesome entertainment at the 64th National Film Awards and his string of success continued with Nenu Local, Duvvada Jagannadham, Fidaa and Raja the Great.
