Finally, the title of Varun Tej’s upcoming film has been revealed and it is Antariksham. With Varun Tej in a space suit and the tagline 9,000 kmph written on the poster, it is evident that Antariksham is a space film.

Varun Tej shared the first look on his social media.

Incidentally, it will be the first ever space film in the Telugu film industry. The genre, which is so popular in India, thanks to Hollywood flicks, has not been touched upon by the Indian filmmakers, particularly those in Tollywood.

Director Sankalp Reddy of Ghazi Attack is wielding the megaphone for Antariksham. Known for making a positive impact with his debut flick, expectations are high on this space thriller. The film’s shooting is currently on and it is expected to hit the marquee on December 21 to cash in on the long Christmas weekend. Antariksham has two heroines – Lavanya Tripathi and Aditi Rao Hydari – in the star cast.

A complete 3D scan for Varun Tej was done for this project and its producer Rajeev Ravi said, “The only reason to do 3D scan is, the Hollywood technicians won't be available post the shoot and the set will be dismantled. If we missed out any, 3D scan helps us to recreate CG in similar manner.”

Earlier, the plan was to shoot this space thriller in some foreign location as it required zero gravity sets, but later team decided to use Hollywood technicians and get the sets done in Hyderabad.

Hero Varun Tej began this year on a positive note with Tholi Prema. The film was a big hit catapulting his star status up. He has another film lined up for release. Titled F2 – Fun and Frustration, the film will have the veteran actor Venkatesh sharing the screen space with Varun Tej. The star cast also includes Tamannaah and Mehreen Pirzada as the female leads.
