
The final character reveal from Dhanush’s Maari 2 is out and it is that of actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. Director Balaji Mohan posted the actor’s first-look via his Twitter handle also revealing her character’s name to be Vijaya.
Vijaya who plays the role of the Joint Secretary of State - Dept. Of Law & Judiciary is described to be a “bold, honest and straightforward (person). A ray of hope who always strives to do the right thing.”

Dressed in crisp cotton sarees, this look closely resembles her character from Vijay’s Sarkar where she played an aspiring politician.
Maari 2 team has been revealing the first-look of different characters in the film one after the other.
Previously actor Tovino Thomas’ look as Beeja aka Thanatos was revealed where the actor was seen sporting dreadlocks and a black bandanna. Tovino who plays the villain in this flick was described as “lives and breathes killing. With brain and with bullet.”
Actor Sai Pallavi, on the other hand, was introduced as Araathu Aanandhi and was described as “a fun character that's also right at the heart of the story of Maari 2.”
Director Balaji also took to Twitter to thank costume designer Vasuki Bhaskar for creating the unique looks for each character in the film.

Dhanush will be seen reprising his local gangster look, that has now become quite popular, in the sequel as well.
Maari 2 is the sequel to the 2015 Dhanush film Maari and is being produced by his banner, Wunderbar Films. The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is expected to release in December this year.
The prequel starred Kajal Aggarwal, Vijay Yesudas and Robo Shankar in lead roles and had music by Anirudh Ravichander.
