The first look poster of actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s upcoming cop film Danny was released to celebrate her birthday on March 5. Actor Jayam Ravi released two first-look posters from his official Twitter handle.

The posters show Varalaxmi portraying a tough cop, holding a gun in one and holding onto a Labrador on a leash in the other.

Produced by PG Mediaworks, the film is being directed by LC Santhanamoorthy. The film’s music will be composed by Santhosh Dayanidhi while B Anandkumar will take care of DoP and SN Fazil will be in charge of editing.

The film is vying for a summer 2019 release.

It was recently announced that Varalaxmi will play a CBI officer in Ranam, a Kannada – Telugu bilingual starring Chiranjeevi Sarja and Chetan Kumar. The shooting of Ranam is currently going on at Minerva Mills in Bengaluru. Grand sets have been erected at the location by art director Srinivas and important scenes are being canned there.

The actor also announced her Telugu debut in Thenali Rama Krishna BA BL, in addition to a multi-starrer in Tamil titled Kannitheevu, starring Aishwarya Dutta of Bigg Boss fame, Ashna Zaveri and Subiksha. Director by Sundar Balu, the film is touted to be a crime thriller.

Varalaxmi has a good number of projects waiting for release this year. Her next release will be Velvet Nagaram, in which she plays a journalist. She also has Neeya 2, a romantic horror thriller with Raai Laxmi, Kanni Raasi with Vimal, and Kaatteri, a horror film with Vaibhav in the offing.

For her roles in Sandakozhi 2 and Sarkar last year, Varalaxmi received the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award for Best Villain Female and the Behindwoods Gold Medal. She was also seen in Maari 2, Echcharikkai: Idhu Manithargal Nadamadum Idam and Mr Chandramouli last year.
