Actor Varalaxmi Sarathkumar on Monday announced her Tollywood debut with Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. Taking to Twitter, the actor said she was excited to work on her first Telugu movie. The film will star Sundeep Kishan and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles and is to be directed by G Nageswara Reddy.

“Super excited to be doing my first #Telugu movie with @sundeepkishan and @ihansika directed by #Nageshwarreddy …. it’s gonna be super fun!!! Can’t wait!!! #TenaliRamaKrishnaBaBl (sic),” tweeted Varalaxmi.

In return, Sundeep tweeted, “Welcome on board yo…looking forward to filming with you. We are going to have a blast (sic),” welcoming his new co-star.

Touted to be a complete comedy entertainer, the principal shooting of the film will commence in February and will be wrapped up in two or three schedules and hit the silver screens as a summer release. The film, which is written by Rajasimha, has Nivas and Bhavani Prasad penning additional dialogues. The film also stars Vennela Kishore, Murali Sharma and Prudhvi Raj.

Last year was a promising one for Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. She landed some important roles in a number of projects, including Vijay’s Sarkar, Dhanush’s Maari 2, and Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2. Incidentally, she played a character with shades of grey in Sandakozhi 2, which fetched her positive reviews. She also made her television debut in 2018 hosting a talk show titled Unnai Arindhaal on Jaya TV, which discusses problems in our society and help people introspect.

Varalaxmi’s last release Maari 2, in which she was seen in a different role, was well appreciated by critics. Currently, the actor has movies like Danny, Velvet Nagaram, Kanni Raasi, Neeya 2 and Ammayi in her kitty in various stages of production. In Velvet Nagaram, billed as a psychological thriller, she will be seen playing a journalist. The story happens within 48 hours. The film is directed by Manojkumar Natarajan and bankrolled by Arun Karthik under his Makers Studios banner.
