Kannada actor Malashree will be seen in a completely different avatar in her upcoming film Uppu Huli Khara. Directed by Imran Sardhariya, the film is being bankrolled by NM Ramesh Reddy under his banner Tejeshwini Enterprises.

The film will have the actor appearing as a cool cop totally different from the roles she had done earlier. On her role, Malashree had reportedly told the Times of India, “It’s true, I am so unlike what people identify me as because of all the many films that see me reeling out dhamaka dialogues and kicking a**. So in a way, this role in Uppu Huli Khara does showcase me quite differently. Even though I do play a cop here, I play a rather cool cop who is much softer by nature but yet is equally powerful when it comes to getting her point across. The film features three different characters who portray the different spices or tastes that we know in life. And I come in as the ‘sweet’, yet another essential taste we can’t live without, who brings them all together.”

Hopeful of breaking the stereotype image that she has been cocooned in for a long time, Malashree had told in the interview that Uppu Huli Khara will prove the point about how an actor can be transformed despite the image.

It may be noted that when Uppu Huli Khara went on the floors, there were reports of a rift between its director Imran Sardhariya and Malashree. But, it was settled amicably and the film went on the floors without hindrance.

The actor has done a lot of homework to get into the skin of the character she portrays in the film. She has reportedly shed around 15 kilos and has opted for a different hairstyle, we hear.
