‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi’s 151st film, Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy may have the Kannada star Upendra playing the baddie.

Reports suggest that the makers of this biopic are interested in casting the Kannada actor and he might just give his go ahead.

The film, which is based on the life of Andhra’s first freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, is likely to go on to the floors in a few weeks time and the team is busy assembling the star cast.

According to reports, the film will have two heroines and the team is trying to rope in top ranking actors for the roles.

Chiranjeevi is said to be undergoing a complete makeover to fit into the role of the legendary hero who waged a war against the British much before the Great Indian Revolt in the 18th century.

The period flick will be directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Chiranjeevi’s home banner Konidela Production Company. There are reports that the producers are contemplating on having this film released not only in Telugu but in Tamil and Hindi as well.

Enquiries about the progress of this film revealed that the director is busy with the groundwork as he needs to research a lot to know more about the freedom fighter.

With very little material available about the legendary hero, the director is doing all that he can, to get the characterization perfectly.

Updendra’s last release was Mukunda Murari last year, which had a good run at the box office.

The star’s Upendra Matte Hutti Baa, Inti Prema is in post production mode right now and he is busy with the progress of Uppi Rupee.
