The shooting of Upendra’s upcoming film I Love You was wrapped up and recently it went in for censor board certification. Now, we have news that the film has been given a UA certification. Confirming that his film has been through censor certification, director Chandru had said that he will be working out the release date once Upendra, who is on vacation, is back. The filmmakers will have to choose a suitable date for its release as it is scheduled to be released in Kannada as well as Telugu.
On this, Chandru has been quoted by Cinema Express as saying, “I am planning the release in May, but will take a call once Upendra is back this week. Depending on the time we require for promotions, we will decide when the film will hit theatres.” He added, “Being a bilingual project, made in Kannada and Telugu, the film’s release might be moved to June. Our viewers have been asking about the release, especially since they will be watching Upendra on the silver screen after nearly two years.”
The film has Rachita Ram playing the lead opposite Upendra. It may be recalled here that Upendra launched I Love You on May 21 last year amidst a lot of expectations among his fans. The songs from I Love You have turned out to be hits and the posters and teasers released earlier indicate that it is a romantic entertainer.
The film is directed and bankrolled by Chandru. Sonu Gowda plays a pivotal role in this flick, besides a host of supporting actors. The technical crew of I Love You includes music by Kiran Thotambyle and cinematography by Naveen Kumar.
Upendra, one of the leading heroes in the Kannada film industry, began his acting career with the film Anantana Avantara in 1989 with a cameo role. Having acted in a number of Kannada films that turned out to be hits, Upendra has also acted in a few Telugu movies.
